Alphonce is a Network and Infrastructure Services Engineer with a strong passion for technology, research, and leveraging knowledge to drive socio-economic development through digital inclusion.He has played a pivotal role in advancing Community Networks in Kenya, training over 50 community network engineers and supporting 13 networks in Kenya alongside several others across Africa.

A dedicated advocate for devolved internet access, digital sovereignty, inclusivity, and internet governance, Alphonce champions an open, secure, and trustworthy internet for all.Holding a Bachelor's degree in Communications and Computer Networks from the Technical University of Kenya, along with a Certificate in Advanced Cybersecurity, Data Protection, Child Online Protection, and Internet Governance, Alphonce brings deep expertise to his work. He currently serves as President of the Internet Society Kenya Chapter (having previously held the role of Vice President) and is a fellow of numerous prestigious programs, including the Africa School of Internet Governance, Kenya School of Internet Governance (KeSIG), Early Career and Mid-Career Fellowships, Youth Ambassador Program, Pan-African Youth Ambassadors for Internet Governance (PAYAIG), and Internet Advocacy Assembly Internet Shutdown Academy.

As a mentor, tutor, and trainer, Alphonce has empowered hundreds in the digital space—training college students in network design and deployment, mentoring early-career professionals through the Internet Society Foundation, and instructing 200 female university students across English-speaking Africa in Spectrum Management as a consultant at AFRALTI.

Recognized for his contributions, he was named Internet Champion of the Year 2023 by the Internet Society and received the Africa Community Development Award 2024 from the Africa ICT Alliance (AfICTA).
Alphonce is the founder and director of Gonline Africa, a youth-led organization focused on equipping young people with life skills, ICT proficiency, financial literacy, and digital entrepreneurship.

Matthew Cua, an award-winning innovator (Forbes 30 Under 30) and manager (PLDT #BeTheBoss Most Innovative), is driven by the intersection of technology and humanitarian impact. With a diverse background spanning international aid organizations, corporate multinationals, family-run conglomerates, academic institutions, startups, and government agencies, Matthew brings a unique ability to transform vision into reality, even in complex and chaotic environments. As an adjunct faculty member at the Asian Institute of Management, he continues to inspire future leaders while leveraging his expertise in business management and science to tackle challenges where unknowns outnumber certainties.

Joyce Dogniez

Joyce has over 20 years of experience with global non-profits to build, engage, and mobilize communities. She ensures cross-community collaboration, focusing on the real-world challenges of connecting people to the Internet's opportunities. In her current role as Vice-President of Empowerment and Outreach, she leads the Internet Society’s effort to close the skills gap in the Internet workforce and to build capacity and knowledge so more people can champion positive change for the growth of the Internet. She served on the International Section Council of the American Society of Association Executives and currently advises youth-led NGOs and mentors young professionals.

She is also past chair and member of the steering committee of the EQUALS global partnership for gender equality in the digital age. She is engaged in several local associations in Luxembourg and is a founding member of the Luxembourg Chapter of Women4Cyber Foundation. In 2023, she was recognized as one of the Top 20 Women Advancing Associations. She speaks regularly at international, regional, and national forums to promote the importance of an open, globally connected Internet and to advocate for an inclusive and diverse community approach.

Ellie Joo is a senior program manager leading marketing and policy for Taara, working to bring affordable high-speed internet to more communities around the world using wireless optical communication, or beams of light. Ellie joined Taara in 2017, helping operationalize the project in India and Africa, building strategic partnerships, and driving global marketing efforts with telcos and internet service providers. As a spokesperson, Ellie evangelizes X’s moonshot mindset and 10X thinking across various storytelling channels to help with recruiting and propelling innovation. Prior to X, Ellie worked at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Medical Center, in lean process improvement across the university healthcare system and conducting public health research in the field of hyperbaric medicine for critically ill patients. Ellie has a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry at UCLA and a Master of Applied Science in Spatial Analysis for Public Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

CFlorence Chege is a distinguished Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, celebrated for her commitment to blending legal expertise with the opportunities and challenges presented by modern technological advancements. Her robust background in legal practice equips her to navigate complex legal landscapes, particularly in areas at the intersection of law and technology. Florence has developed a keen focus on pivotal issues such as digital rights protection, cyber law, data privacy, and the regulatory frameworks governing the digital ecosystem.

Her work is driven by a vision to create equitable solutions that uphold justice in the digital age. Florence believes in the power of progressive legal frameworks to foster innovation while ensuring ethical and inclusive access to technology. Her analytical approach and dedication make her a trusted advocate for individuals, organizations, and communities navigating the evolving legal implications of technology.

In her current role as the Legal Officer at Gonline Africa, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to empowering rural communities with ICT and entrepreneurship skills, Florence provides strategic legal guidance to ensure compliance, governance, and ethical practices. She is passionate about advancing initiatives that promote access to digital opportunities and the responsible use of technology.

Murekefu Samuel

Samuel Murekefu is a certified Multi - cloud Architect (Google Cloud Platform and AWS) and an experienced Modern Workplace expert (Microsoft 365 & Google Workspace Administrator). He has been able to work with great companies along the way to an extent he volunteered to share the knowledge with our students as we empower our students to embrace the growing technological World.

Samuel has served as a Network Engineer, Collaboration Engineer, Customer Engineer, Technical Sales Engineer, AWS Cloud architect and GCP architect. During his tenure in the field, he has learnt to engage customers, be creative in offering cloud, project management and on-premise services hence transforming business objectives into tangible configurations, policies, and security practices as they relate to users, content, and integrations.

He has also gained business and leadership skills, including strategy, systems thinking, innovation, team development. He is happy to work with teams to deliver quality solutions to customers through these practices and spread the knowledge with the team. Samuel's experience from training in AZUBI AFRICA has helped expand our training scope to include cloud computing and modern workplace training.
